Loving it – can’t wait

Who are you most keen on seeing bring home a Gold medal for Team GB this summer?

Mo Farrah as an individual and 4 x 400 (because I’ll be there for that one!)

If you were a part of Team GB, what event would you most likely be participating in?

Shot put!

What one event will you be sure to watch when the Olympic Games kicks off?

Cycling – the one with the moped is a good one – or the “who can pedal the slowest” a bit like when you did your cycling proficiency when you were 10”

What has been your most memorable Olympic Games moment of all time?

Beijing closing ceremony – I don’t have a great memory

And how many days into the Games will the London Transport system grind to a halt?

It won’t – London is a tiny city for it’s status and as long as the weather holds, people will walk if they need to – Tube strikes are an inconvenience not a catastrophe when they occur so it will be the same if there are any problems.

To what extent are you suffering from Olympic fever?

I am an Olympic fanatic and always have been. Growing up, in the school holidays I would watch everything whether it was an athletics qualifying session or the early rounds of boxing.  I remember watching lots of classic moments like Coe and Ovett in 1980. The Olympics is one of the few things I get quite emotional about.

Where were you when London won the Olympic Games bid?

In an office in Golden square about two months after joining WCRS.  I ran straight down to Trafalgar Square to join the celebrations.

Who are you most keen on seeing bring home a Gold medal for Team GB this summer?

I’d like the women’s handball team to win.  It won’t happen but they have had a huge struggle just to make the games and their commitment is an inspirational story.

If you were a part of Team GB, what event would you most likely be participating in?

Table tennis.  My Dad built a full size table in our garage which I played on a lot when younger.  I’ll play anyone in Engine for a fiver.

What one event will you be sure to watch when the Olympic Games kicks off?

I will watch everything time allows me to see from archery to sailing but if I could only watch one thing I would watch the men’s 4 x 400m final.

And what event will you barely give a second glance?

I’m not mad on Greco Roman wrestling.

The Olympic village catering team – I’m rubbish at sports!

Synchronised swimming or rhythmic gymnastics – surely these aren’t really sports?!
